Living Off the Blessings of the Last Generation

This past Sunday Pastor Leo shared a powerful message in our a.m. service. I asked him for permission to share the main points on this blog.

1. The next generation usually starts out better then the first
2. The next generation mistakes God's blessing for merit. As if we have earned it
3. The next generation can hide in yesterday's blessing.
4. The next generation exaggerates the godliness of the previous one, make their spirituality unattainable.
5. The next generation has the "times have changed syndrome" We pine for simpler days
6. The next generation is fooled into thinking the hard work is finished

We are the next generation. We are blessed because of the sacrifices and prayers of our predecessors. But, we must not simply live off of their blessings but strive to do what they did as we face the challenges of today.

Thanks for the challenge Pastor Leo
