1 Th 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
The Apostle Paul did not live a easy life. He writes to the Corinthians about some of his trials.
- 2 Cor 11:23 Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again.
- 2 Cor 11:24 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one.
- 2 Cor 11:25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea,
- 2 Cor 11:26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers.
- 2 Cor 11:27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.
- 2 Cor 11:28 Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.
That is a difficult life and yet we see him telling the Thesalonians to be Joyful, Prayful and lastly Thankful.
How can he be thankful for all that he had been through?
He knew the secrets to thankfulness
1. Focus on the Blessings we have in Christ
2. Die to selfish desires
3. Learn more about Jesus in every situation
4. Keep the kingdom of God first
5. Know that your best days are always ahead
- 2 Tim 1:12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
BE THANKFUL ALWAYS
